About Anna Chandler

Decorative Artist, Anna Chandler was born in Tasmania and moved to Perth, Australia to study Design. She has lived in many exotic locations around the world and continues to travel widely to gain inspiration for her growing range of homewares.  Her designs, from placematsceramics, doormats, textiles, accessories and jewellery  are to be found in some of the most beautiful gift and homeware stores around the world.

A design graduate, Anna has travelled the world in search of places of beauty and timelessness, reflected in her popular range of architectural plaques and tiles. They seem to stir the memory of happy times spent in magical places. Childhood recollections of her lush Tasmanian garden, bursting with fruit and flowers are another source of inspiration.

Alive with colour, Anna’s home is a patchwork of vibrant patterns, rich tribal embroideries, rugs from every continent and ever-growing collections of flea market treasures. Mosaics adorn walls and courtyards. Her environment inspires new designs constantly and her aim is to spread joy, colour and life around the world.

After graduating from Curtin University, Western Australia, with a degree in design, Anna worked in interior design and jewellery design both in Australia and overseas and taught painted finishes. Her experience in design, sculpting, mould-making, paint effects and a love of exotic Mediterranean architecture eventually came together in the form of her unique, brightly painted, sculpted wall plaques.

When Anna and her husband Michael first started the business together, their small back shed served as a moulding, painting and packing area, but before long the products started selling all over Australia and they were soon bursting at the seams. Their first factory was opened in 1997 by the Hon. Kim Beazley, leader of the Federal Opposition, but with more staff and huge orders coming in, they soon had to move again to a much larger factory near Fremantle, Western Australia. With agents and distributors all over the world and a burgeoning export business, the company has upgraded premises yet again, moving to Osborne Park, the homewares capital of Perth, And it now finally resides in O’Connor, Western Australia.
